Italian Language Students Visit Adelaide City Football Club
The SAIA Italian Community Language School would like to sincerely thank Adelaide City Football Club for their wonderful hospitality and kindness during our recent school excursion to the Club’s Oakden Rooms. Our students had a fantastic experience exploring the club and learning about its rich history and strong connection to the Italian community in South Australia.
A very special thank you goes to Angelo Carrozza, Tony Antenucci and Marius Zannin, who generously gave their time to show the children around the clubrooms and share stories about the history, traditions and achievements of Adelaide City Football Club.
The students were particularly excited to get out onto the oval, have a kick of the football and put their Italian language skills into practice by learning and following football commands in Italian. It was a wonderful opportunity to combine language learning, sport and Italian culture in a fun and engaging environment. The day was made even more special with a delicious pizza lunch provided for the students, along with football souvenirs generously gifted to each child. These thoughtful gestures were greatly appreciated and certainly added to the excitement of the day. Experiences such as this demonstrate the importance of connecting our students with the wider Italian-Australian community and providing opportunities for them to learn Italian in real-world settings. Grazie mille to everyone at Adelaide City Football Club for making our excursion such a memorable experience for our students! We look forward to continuing to build strong connections between the SAIA Italian Community Language School and the Adelaide Italian community.
