A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the SAIA Business Lunch! It was fantastic to see so many people come together to connect, share ideas, and strengthen relationships within our industry.
The purpose of the excursion was to: immerse students in Italian culture through food, gardening, and sustainability, expand students’ Italian vocabulary related to plants, food, and cooking, provide a hands-on learning experience in an authentic garden setting, encourage curiosity about traditional Italian ingredients and how they are grown.
Earlier this year, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 8th March, the Consulate of Italy in Adelaide and the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters, in collaboration with the Australia Donna Association, unveiled the city’s first “Red Bench.” The initiative is part of the Red Rose Foundation’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of domestic and family violence in Australia. This initiative is proudly sponsored by the South Australian Italian Association.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been officially signed between the Italian Consul in Adelaide and the Department for Education SA, reinforcing our shared commitment to promoting the Italian language in South Australian schools. This important agreement, supported by the Italian government and facilitated through the Ente Gestore Program (Language Assistance Program) by SAIA, marks a new chapter in cultural and linguistic exchange.
Earlier this month, the South Australian Italian Association (SAIA) was proud to host its annual Ente Gestore (Language Assistance Program) Meet & Greet, welcoming newly arrived Language Teaching Assistants from Italy to South Australia. This special event brought together teaching assistants participating in international language programs, providing a valuable opportunity for cross-cultural exchange, professional networking, and community engagement.
The South Australian Italian Association are proud to announce the new lease arrangement with Premium Foods and Events Pty Ltd trading as Vespa Catering and Events. Vespa Catering and Events will be operating from 262 Carrington St in an official capacity from the 1st January 2025.
Today we have officially launched the award application form on the SAIA website, enabling the South Australian Community to cast their nominations for a distinguished member of the community. Nominations will open on Friday 1st July 2022, before closing on Thursday 15th September 2022.
