Recognition to those individuals or organisations whose achievements deserve to be celebrated!

Background

The South Australian Italian Association (SAIA) Awards aim to promote and perpetuate the Italian-South Australian heritage and to acknowledge the importance of Italian immigrants towards the construction of the fascinating multicultural Australian mosaic. This year is SAIA’s 75th Anniversary and we will acknowledge this also at this event.

The SAIA awards have been established with the scope of recognizing and celebrating the extraordinary accomplishments of individuals or organisations who have distinguished themselves in our community and in the community at large.

SAIA Awards 2024

0n the 9 November 2024, SAIA intends to launch again the SAIA Awards which intends to honour Italians or Italian organisations who operate in the following six sectors:

  1. Community Award for those who have contributed significantly to the community
  2. Culture and Art Award which includes education, music, language, sport, cuisine, and wine.
  3. Research & Development, and Innovation Award which includes education, research, start-ups, innovative entrepreneurs.
  4. Small Business Award which includes those businesses of less than 20 workers.
  5. Large Business Award which includes Primary Sector, Secondary Sector, Tertiary Sector.
  6. Young Achiever Award which includes young people under 35 years of age, who have achieved excellence in their field of work or study, achieved a noteworthy personal accomplishment or have developed a creative or innovative project/initiative.

In addition in relation to the 75th Anniversary we are hoping to make an additional acknowledgement of the “SAIA Women” who have made special contributions to SAIA over its history

Procedure

The nomination proposals will be assessed by an independent Awards Committee of prominent South Australians and the six awards will be announced at the Gala Night on 9 November 2024 at the National Wine Centre.

  8. Ms Kate Thiele (Community, R&D, Youth) – Klarity Consulting
  9. Mr Anton Andreacchio (Community, Culture, Business, R&D, Youth) – Convergen/Jumpgate
